The Snapdragon X2 build runs a Qualcomm Hexagon NPU, a chip dedicated to AI alone. It carries the AI load away from the processor, so the rest of the Laptop never slows down to keep up.
TOPS counts trillions of AI operations a second. A Copilot+ PC needs 40. This Laptop runs 80 on Snapdragon X2, the most in the Surface Laptop line, with up to 50 on the Intel Core Ultra build.
Drafting, search and captions happen on the machine itself, not in the cloud. That keeps them fast and keeps your work private, and it means they carry on with no signal, on a flight or through a power cut.
The NPU is built for AI efficiency, so running it barely touches the battery. That is how the 13.8-inch pairs on-device AI with up to 23 hours and 1.35 kg you can carry from the first mail to the last meeting.
